Mountain bikers want to build 2-mile trail in Lake Elmo

The mountain bike team from Stillwater Area High School would like to build a two-mile trail in a Lake Elmo park.

The trail would be in Reid Park, which is on 30th Street.

The team is proposing an 18-inch-wide trail, similar to a three-mile trail it recently completely in Oak Park Heights, according to team director Calvin Jones

A nonprofit that supports the team, the Stillwater Area Scholastic Cycling Advocates, would provide labor and materials to make the Lake Elmo trail.

The proposal will be presented at a meeting of the Lake Elmo Parks Commission at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at city hall, 3800 Laverne Ave. N.
