Meet at proposed Rush Line site to hear about transit plans

Anyone with ideas about proposed bus rapid transit in the Rush Line corridor between St. Paul and White Bear Lake can attend an event this weekend to discuss possibilities.

The “Ride & Walk” — for walkers and bicyclists — will explore trail alignments, landscaping and station planning. Attendees will be able to see part of the proposed route and some of its key features.

The 14-mile route would include 20 stops between downtown St. Paul and downtown White Bear Lake. Buses would run seven days a week from early in the morning to late at night and arrive every 10 minutes during rush hours and every 15 minutes other times.

The project is in the environmental review and preliminary engineering phrase.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bruce Vento Trail circle, north of Frost Avenue in Maplewood.

If you want to attend, Ramsey County asks that you register online at bit.ly/2t2G5VQ or by calling 651-266-2760.
