Rosedale’s new anchor tenant Von Maur rolls out Saturday

Von Maur, the high-end department store that will serve as Rosedale Center’s new anchor tenant is set to debut Saturday with a big grand opening celebration.

The day will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony of the two-story space at 9:45 a.m., followed by a meet and greet with the von Maur family from 11 a.m. to noon.

Live music and children’s entertainment are also part of the festivities. In addition, in-store giveaways such as gift cards and a gift with purchase will be offered throughout the day.

The upscale department store founded in Davenport, Iowa, ( is known for top brand names, spacious store aisles for easy browsing and free gift wrapping.

The store’s several departments include fashion apparel for children, juniors, men and women as well as formal wear, cosmetics, home and gifts. Top brand names include Toms, Kate Spade, Alex & Ani, Hunter, Vineyard Vines and Peter Millar.

This will be the second Von Maur in Minnesota after the one at Eden Prairie Center.

The Roseville store is expected to employ up to 200 people and will span 140,000 square feet and will include Von Maur’s signature style of antiques, original artwork, open-floor plan and grand piano music.

A new two-level structure is also now up and running on the northeast end of the mall between J.C. Penney and Von Maur, providing direct access to both of those stores.
