Vikings kicker Dan Bailey named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

So much for the Vikings’ kicking woes.

Kicker Dan Bailey, who made all four of his field-goal and both of his extra-point attempts last Sunday against the New York Giants, was named Wednesday the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Bailey had struggles last season and re-signed after taking a pay cut. The Vikings during the preseason brought in kicker and punter Kaare Vedvik to provide competition but Bailey won the job

In a 28-10 win over the Giants, Bailey made field goals of 31, 48, 32 and 45 yards at MetLife Stadium, which is known for its swirling winds. Bailey last season made just 4 of 9 field goals between 40 and 49 yards.

Bailey is 7 of 8 this season on field-goal attempts and 11 of 12 on extra points.
