Minneapolis pedestrian dies three days after being struck by motorist

A Minneapolis pedestrian died Monday after being struck by a motorist in the city’s Lyn-Lake neighborhood three days earlier, officials say.

The crash occurred about 9:15 a.m. Friday at Lake Street and Pleasant Avenue, according to a news release issued by the Minneapolis Police Department. The woman was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with grave injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, the news release said. Police do not believe he was impaired by drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.

The pedestrian’s identity and cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County medical examiner’s office.
