Shooting near Mears Park injures 1 Sunday night

St. Paul police were investigating a shooting near Mears Park Sunday night.

Little information was immediately available, but according to the watch commander’s office a man was shot about 7:30 p.m. on Sibley Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets. He received non life-threatening injuries, and the suspect fled the area on foot.

The shooting was still under investigation Sunday night, but the watch commander said it did not appear to be a random incident.
