New eateries set up shop at malls around the metro

There’s no shortage of new food establishments opening up at malls and shopping centers. Here’s a look at some newly opened or opening soon eateries:

The Mall of America is now home to a Wafels & Dinges (Level 3, North near Nordstrom) outpost. Look for “Liege-style” Belgian waffles, coffees, ice cream shakes and more from the New York-based outfit. Dunkin’ Donuts (Level 2, East) is also now open serving its classic donuts, coffees and more.

And there’s more to come. The much anticipated Chicken Guy (Level 3, North), the fast-casual chicken tenders concept from Guy Fieri of the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and restaurateur Robert Earl, is slated to open at the Mall of America later this year.

Maplewood Mall recently rolled out the welcome mat to Viva Tea, serving up bubble tea and other specialty beverages, and Slice Pizza, serving pizza by the slice, in the Food Court. At Center Court in Maplewood, there’s now another outpost of Wonders Ice Cream, the rolled ice cream outfit with a few locations in the metro.

T-Rex Cookie Kitchen, the local brand serving giant cookies, is now open at the Center Court at Ridgedale Center.
