High school football roundup: McFadden runs for 261 yards and three scores as St. Thomas races past Sibley

St. Thomas Academy 30, Sibley 6: Danny McFadden now has six touchdowns through two games, as the Cadets running back ran for 261 yards — on just 17 carries for a 15.3 yard per carry average — and three scores to move the Cadets to 2-0. Sibley dropped to 0-2.

White Bear Lake 35, Cretin-Derham Hall 21: Branden Berwald tallied three total touchdowns — two rushing and one passing — while Jeff Odamtten had a 19-yard rushing touchdown and a 42-yard receiving score as the Bears (1-1) jumped out to a 35-7 first-half lead en route to a 14-point victory over the Raiders, who fell to 0-2.

Park 19, Hastings 7: Tied at 7-7 through three quarters, Park (1-1) broke free in the final frame with a pair of rushing touchdowns — the first from Blake Johnson, who ran for 81 yards on the night, and the clincher from Amarion Washington from 17 yards out. Hastings fell to 1-1 with the loss.

St. Agnes 22, Breck 0: Isaac Schmidt led the way for St. Agnes (1-0) on Friday, running for 53 yards and a score, passing for 74 yards and a touchdown and recording a safety on defense.

Spring Lake Park 28, Irondale 0: Henry Dennis ran for a pair of touchdowns for the Panthers (1-0), who tallied 226 yards on the ground as a team while the defense shut out Irondale (1-1).

Minnetonka 7, Mounds View 3: Will Martin’s 60-yard scoring strike to Tyler Lien was the only touchdown of the game as Minnetonka (1-1) rallied to beat Mounds View (0-1), whose lone score was a second-quarter field goal from Ben Samuel.
